Hiring manager said will consider
Solid and reasonably deep VMware experience.
Just using VMware vSphere to deploy or manage VMs is not sufficient.
I’m willing to sacrifice Cisco IOS experience for a strong VMware candidate with good cultural fit.
On the networking side, the candidate should at least be able to explain basic networking concepts -- e..g, read and understand packet traces, understand difference between a VLAN trunk and access port, etc.

Ideal Applicant
* VMWare SDDC technologies including vSphere, vCenter.
* Cisco IOS and Cisco ASA (basics such as changing VLANs, firewall rules, routing, basic packet capture and analysis). If the candidate can't thoroughly explain the difference between VLAN trunking and VLAN access ports, then they are a no-go.
* VMware NSX and VMware vSAN are a big plus. If you have these, make sure your resume shows what level of experience you have with NSX and or vSAN?
